Okay so that's a little misleading. I have never even met Russ in person, and who knows maybe he's a douchebag. So i can't say that i have a full-fledged man crush, but a definitely a slight infatuation. :). Just to clarify, I prefer the female gender for sexual relations, but Russ is making such a huge impact on our subculture and what will soon be a much bigger part of mainstream culture on the whole, that it's hard not to be intrigued by him.
My opinion is that Marijuana will soon be legal. Thats just my opinion and let me tell you why. We have had activists making great strides in changing legislation...over the past 40 years. There are a lot of GREAT activists out there doing BIG things, but that system by nature completely ignored the little guys who aren't as able to do BIG things, but that age is over now, with the advent of Facebook and social media.
In this aspect i think one day we will all look back and see Radical Russ and the Norml Show Live (NSL) crew as receiving most of the credit.
You can see the effect the internet has on connecting people of similar interests, and maybe helping people explore new interests. Well with such a huge percent of the population being regular MJ users (1 in 10 according to most polling) there are a great many unspoken advocates who just kept there mouth shut until the anonymity of the internet came about. Sure you could join a forum or comment on blog posts, but rarely does that lead to much action beyond furthering trains of thought. Now we have NSL to tell us, everyday, about all the other activists, big to little, taking on everyone from the congress to your parents. We have experience talking to people, because they have given us the templates, they have given us scenarios, and given multiple perspectives with which to approach them, we never had this before the show. I have always been involved but NSL has made me an activist, it has put the defiant blood in my veins, has made me the incredible hulk of anti prohibition that stands (or sits on the couch in a silent empty room) before you, and i for one am personally very grateful for this day and age that allows this, and for Russ's phenomenal, at times very informal, attempt at changing the views of a disillusioned world. Russ has taken Norml into the 21st century and has made it an electronic mecca for those of us weedlocked in the midwest. For that i just want to say thank you, Russ, and everyone at the Norml Network ( Cure ukay, Ganja jon, Carrie, as well as Jon Doe and the other podcasts) because it is you deserve the most esteem, it is you who has set up this format for the rest of us to learn from, and it is you who is making it possible for me to pave new roads EVERY SINGLE DAY with almost everyone i come into contact with. Kudos guys.
